English-language standup comedy open mic — a wonderfully relaxed show ranging from experienced comics trying new material, other established comedians trying to polish their best, to newcomers trying standup for the very first time. You never know what you're going to get. That's the whole fun of it.
Your host: Francesco Kirchhoff — seasoned and happy/grim/partially flamboyant veteran of standup and part-time mixologist. Called "smart and risky" by the leading UK comedy reviewer. He'll guide you through the chaos with charm and the occasional cocktail.
Between sets, performers create jokes on the spot based on anonymous audience suggestions. You write it, they try it. Some bits will be brilliant. Some will be glorious disasters. All of it will be entertaining.
Come alone, come with friends, come with your weird cousin who's visiting from Hamburg. Everyone's welcome. Monday nights at Republic of Comedy are where Lisbon's comedy community comes together — performers and audience, locals and travellers, first-timers and regulars.
