Pride & Prejudice: Comedy for charity in Mitte

#ComedyfürAlle: FREE ENGLISH STANDUP COMEDY SHOW FOR CHARITY (TWO SHOW TIMES, 7PM + 9PM)For the third year in a row, “Pride & Prejudice” returns to Z-Bar!Headliner Ben MacLean is a Canadian celebrating 20 fabulous (if somewhat awkward) years outside the closet. A semi-finalist in Britain’s prestigious “So You Think You’re Funny?” competition, he’s known for his charming stage presence and hilarious-yet-relatable stories about love gone wrong and growing up the youngest of seven kids. After performing in Los Angeles, Cape Town, Barcelona and London, he’s back on his home turf in Berlin!Opening the show is Francesco Kirchhoff, who despite his German and Italian roots somehow still turned out straight. But he’s a true ally of the LGBT community, and a very funny one at that. One of the hardest-gigging comedians of the Berlin scene and a constant fixture of most shows here, his comedy explores extremes and self-serving absurdities with rapid-fire punchlines.Born and raised in Lebanon, our host Carmen Chraim wins over crowds with her high-energy presence and quick-witted anecdotes. Thanks to her Middle Eastern background, passion for hummus, deep experience with corporate Germans and sarcastic political views, she’s often seen as an alternative Arab success story that hasn’t yet been discovered by the media.Supporting acts will be the wonderful Joe von Hutch and Purdy Hölsom.Joe von Hutch, gay pimp, grew up in New York pretending to sell candy “for his basketball team.” After a life of other financial crimes he put all his money in bitcoins, but forgot the password and went broke. He stays in Berlin because it’s cheaper than getting a job and does comedy because it’s cheaper than finding a therapist.Purdy Hölsom is a musical comic from NC (editor’s note: We believe this to be some biker gang or obscure state in the USA, or whatever). She’s classically trained in not giving a fuck.Free entry show with donations (suggested donation €10+). All donations go to support LGBTQI charities.First show: 7:00pm doors open, showtime 7:30pmSecond show: 9:00 p.m. doors open, showtime 9:30 p.m.#Berlin #comedy #CSDBerlin #LGBT #LGBTQI #Pride

What People Say

"Great spot to listen to some English language comedy. The owner and host is very interactive and funny. Love the place and will definitely be back. And highly recommend to anyone who's a fan of stand up."

"Great comedy club, intimate, and highly entertaining. This Lisbon gem should be a staple of the nightlife as it is a fantastic venue and the artists have been very good on our visits. Highly recommend!"

"I had loads of fun at their Friday night show. The venue is very cool, ran by and for comedians. This is a no brainer if you are solo travelling as the bar staff look after you and comedy is a great ice breaker when meeting people."

"I have been here twice now, and really enjoyed the experience both times. If you are looking for diverse, multicultural comedy all in English in Lisbon, this is the place! There is also a secretive speakeasy vibe to the bar and its entrance which is a really nice touch."
