Republic of Comedy presents:

Filippo Spreafico: Crowdwork for Reels

The multitalented madman that is rising comedy star Filippo Spreafico comes back to Lisbon!

Tue, Mar 10 · Doors 8:30 PM · Show 9:00 PM Xafarix

About This Show

Filippo Spreafico has performed in 15 countries, trained in improv at Second City Chicago, studied clowning in Paris, appeared regularly on Italian national television, and toured from the Comedy Store in LA to the Melbourne Comedy Festival. And yet, his current work is about... trying to come up with a theme for a comedy show.

Whether a flex or a cry for help, it’s very funny. Probably. He’s still figuring it out. That’s what “work in progress” means.

This Italian whirlwind blends stand-up, improvisation, music, and surreal storytelling into something that technically qualifies as a comedy show but feels more like being charmingly kidnapped by a man with too many talents and not enough impulse control.

He’s been on Rai 2, Comedy Central Italy, the Edinburgh Fringe, and the Adelaide Comedy Festival. He hosts two podcasts — one in English, one in Italian — featuring “audio sketches, surreal interviews, and forgettable history lessons.” (His words. We would never be that honest about our own content.)

After a show about quitting comedy and a show about starting comedy, Filippo is now workshopping a show about... the show itself. It’s meta. It’s chaotic. It’s a work in progress in the most literal and philosophical sense.

What should you expect? New material, happy accidents, and the rare privilege of watching a professional figure things out in real time.

What People Say

"Great spot to listen to some English language comedy. The owner and host is very interactive and funny. Love the place and will definitely be back. And highly recommend to anyone who's a fan of stand up."

"Great comedy club, intimate, and highly entertaining. This Lisbon gem should be a staple of the nightlife as it is a fantastic venue and the artists have been very good on our visits. Highly recommend!"

"I had loads of fun at their Friday night show. The venue is very cool, ran by and for comedians. This is a no brainer if you are solo travelling as the bar staff look after you and comedy is a great ice breaker when meeting people."

NB
Nicholas B.

"I have been here twice now, and really enjoyed the experience both times. If you are looking for diverse, multicultural comedy all in English in Lisbon, this is the place! There is also a secretive speakeasy vibe to the bar and its entrance which is a really nice touch."
